Aboriginal Art and Culture

Team Bonding is very proud to give corporate groups an opportunity to connect with leading Aboriginal artist, musician and teacher, Walangari Karntawarra.

Aboriginal Art & Culture has been developed to help us journey into a spiritual art form that taps into the storytelling, symbols and significance of the world's oldest living culture.

Walangari’s inspiration to paint came from his famous great-grandfather, Albert Namatjira and his grandfather Clifford Possum. A talented teacher, with a great stage presence, his passion extends to music and dance, education and promotion of all things Aboriginal. He is committed to improving the lives of his people and helping ensure that the voice of Aboriginal Australia is heard.

With the gift of his storytelling and reference to his spectacular art, in a loosely structured discussion Walangari will explain the concept of the Dreamtime and Aboriginal spirituality. His insights reflect on the importance of cultural foundations such as paying respect to the land and honouring Ancestors and Dreaming spirits.

Aboriginal Art cannot be taught to those outside the culture as the techniques are passed down through the generations. Participants of this unique session will leave with a greater appreciation of the creativity and symbolism used by Aboriginal artists and ultimately a deeper understand of, and respect for, Aboriginal culture.

Shown above left is the wonderful "Winparku" - "This painting depicts my country which is about 275kms West of Alice Springs, in the Central Desert Region of Central Australia. The colours reflect the landscape and scenery as well as the abundance of bush foods and medicines."
