Kayaking Adventure

Which of 15 superb waterways around Sydney will you choose for your team’s ultimate day out?

Team Bonding presents Sydney’s premium recreational paddling company – Freedom Outdoors - offering quality group kayaking experiences in 15 locations, led by kayak champions Tony Carr and Christine Heywood. The company uses only new boats, customised with fully adjustable, comfortable seats and rudder systems for easy steering.

Eco-Paddle on Lake Narrabeen

Home to one-third of Sydney’s bird species and a stopover for migratory birds from as far away as Russia, the creeks leading into Lake Narrabeen are rarely visited, hidden gems. We take your team there, plus they’ll visit the beach that Hollywood turned into an island for Kevin Spacey in Superman Returns. Includes a brief presentation on the ecology of the area by an expert from the Coastal Environment Centre. Approx 2-3 hours including rest breaks.

Georges River History & Habitat

Contains some of Sydney’s best river habitat for native plants and animals. Meandering, protected waterway, sandstone cliffs, bush clad banks and some nice pull in points. Empties into Botany Bay, so comes complete with a colourful past! Our adventure starts at the quaintly named Cattle Duffers Flat in the Georges River National Park and proceeds upstream from there. Easily reached - only 30 mins south of the CBD. Tour lasts approx 4-5 hours including stops on the way.

Or any of these other locations!

- Lane Cove River
- Garigal National Park
- Berowra Waters
- Royal National Park
- Hawkesbury River
- Woronora River
- Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park
- Central Coast
- Hawkesbury River
- Cowan Creek

Looking for something active? Take the Freedom Outdoors Kayak Challenge

We’ll turn your team into proficient kayakers. They’ll learn how to sit and stroke correctly, to manoeuvre like experts and the techniques that build endurance and reduce muscle soreness. Our instructors will take them step-by-step through self-rescue and other essential skills to keep them safe on the water. One-on-one and group instruction. A great confidence builder and fun day - they won’t be able to wait to get back on the water. Approx 2-3 hours and offered at various locations. Can be run on a competitive basis, as a teams event, and with a fun race as climax.

How will it work?

With Team Bonding and Freedom Outdoors, every assignment is tailored to suit our clients’ needs. There are no standard packages. We want to discuss your objectives and know exactly what your needs and expectations are. Then we take over and design the ultimate day out for you and your team.

In planning your ultimate day, we pay particular attention to the physical capabilities of your group. No prior paddling experience is required. All paddles start with a safety briefing and participants are required to wear a life vest at all times while on the water. Some trips can be designed to incorporate a bushwalking component if you wish.

Irrespective of location, trip length and agreed activities, we offer a simple pricing structure (quoted ex-GST) with no unexpected surcharges.

3 - 5 pax

$135 per head + supervision fee of $350

6- 11 pax

$88 per head + supervision fee of $400

12 - 14 pax

$55 per head + supervision fee of $450

A week prior to your event we will issue you with an email detailing arrangements for the day (what to bring, what to wear, etc). This should be forwarded to all participants so they are quite clear what is expected of them.

Catering:

Team Bonding's catering department can also assist in making it a great day, with a number of choices for snacks or lunch:

1. A picnic lunch box with a wrap, piece of fruit, a cake bar, a small chocolate and a can of drink for $20 per head + GST

2. A picnic buffet lunch with BBQ chicken, quiche / frittata and 2 – 3 salads and bread rolls and juice for $25 per head + GST

3. Gourmet BBQ (subject to location constraints), Italian sausages, morrocan lamb chops, chicken skewers, 3 gourmet salads plus drinks for $35 per head + GST

Terms and Conditions.

We will provide you with a written quotation for your ultimate day out. Once this is agreed we will invoice you and ask that this be paid in full to Team Bonding at least 24 hours before the date of your event. No trips can proceed without prior payment. Having agreed the group size prior to the event, no refunds are given for cancellations within three full days of an event or for no shows on the day.

All participants will be required to sign a risk waiver. This will be supplied a week before your event.

Trips proceed if light showers are forecast but not if the Bureau predicts continuous rain, high winds or thunderstorms. Freedom Outdoors determines if conditions are suitable or not. Should conditions not be suitable an alternative date will be offered. If no suitable alternative date can be agreed, Freedom Outdoors will retain 20% of the value of the invoice as a service fee and refund the balance.

Any additional costs or out-of-pockets incurred by Freedom Outdoors in providing for your special needs will be billed with a 10% service fee.
