Sailing Experience

Team Bonding is delighted to introduce a unique opportunity for your team. Learn the basics of sailing in your own dinghy topper, pico or hobie boat. Not a "chardonnay sailing" afternoon, this is a hands on activity for teams seeking an engaging shared experience. Located at the beautiful Balmoral Beach in northern Sydney, your team can add relaxing on the beach with a picnic and some games to this enjoyable and memorable fresh air team activity.

Balmoral Sailing is owned and operated by blokes who are passionate and knowledgeable about watersports, and have been tutoring beginners (including thousands of children) for nearly 20 years.

Located on Sydney's lower north shore, Balmoral is an ideal spot to catch the prevailing North-Easterly sea breezes, whihc has made it Sydney's top sailing venue, (home to the 2000 Olympic sailing events). As well as being a lovely spot, the sheltered bay means it is one of the safest and easiest places to launch and learn to sail.

After the sailing, we can set up beach volleyball, cricket or soccer, so the active amongst you can continue the fun whilst the rest linger to relax on the wonderful beach and grass area.

How Will it Work?

Designed for those with no previous sailing experience, dinghy sailing is a sport that you can start to enjoy as soon as you hit the water. Our dinghy toppers are ideal for learning the basics on; our staff get you rigged up and ready to increase your time out on the water.

With experienced, patient staff who make the day a lot of fun, you are in great hands. All equipment, instruction, buoyancy aids, wetsuits, changing facilities and hot showers are provided. Safety is paramount, with instructors in contact via radio and a speedboat on the water at all times.

How to rig your boat
Sailing across the wind
Sailing upwind and tacking
Sailing downwind and gybing

If you have some people who don't want to sail there are some great walks in the area, or a leisurely stroll down the beach and coffee at a cafe could be in order.

Team Bonding's catering department will also assist in making it a great day, with the following lunch choices:

1. A picnic lunch box with wraps, a piece of fruit, a cake bar, a small chocolate and a can of drink for $20 per head + GST

2. A picnic buffet lunch with BBQ chicken, quiche and 2 – 3 salads and bread rolls and juice for $25 per head + GST

3. Gourmet BBQ, we could do Italian sausages, morrocan lamb chops, chicken skewers, 2 gourmet salads, a baked potato dish and juice for $35 per head + GST

Details

Duration:  Sailing is for a minimum of 2 hours and up to 3. Your group can linger on the beach for a picnic or games before or after your sailing if desired.

Group size: Suitable for 10 - 20 pax. Larger groups can be accomodated, please call Team Bonding on 9492 8300 to discuss your requirements.

Cost, excluding GST: Your 2 - 3 hour sailing experience is $115 per person + GST, this includes all hire of the boat, equipment including safety vest and experienced instructors. Beach games (volleyball, cricket, soccer) can be organised at an additional cost of $100 per hour.

Terms: A 20% booking deposit is required upon confirmation, with the final invoice due the day prior to the event. All prices exclude GST and catering.

Wet Weather

 

Day before: If your day is forecast to be bad, or is bad the day before, Team Bonding will consult with you to decide if we go ahead or not. (Safety and comfort are the paramount concerns)

On the Day: If upon arriving at the venue or start point we decide not to go ahead Team Bonding will generally agree to re run the day, but will need to be compensated for any direct costs accrued on the original booked day. These will include contractor and staff wages, equipment hire, snack packs etc.

If both parties agree to postpone and no suitable re run date can be found, Team Bonding will retain your 20% booking deposit as a service fee and refund the balance (if already paid) or not charge the balance.
