Team Film Festival

The international popularity of the Tropfest festival inspired the idea for teams of colleagues to create short films and hold their very own corporate film festival. In this event your team are the producers, stars, directors, writers, editors, casting directors, location scouts, make up artists and costumers. With just a bit of help from some experts and professional equipment, we'll turn your raw talent into a memorable short film for everyone to keep.

Why Choose This Event?

Making a short film requires real balance of creativity and discipline and each team member will play a critical role in achieving the task in a short time frame. Film sets are hives of activity, with many decisions and negotiations required. Short films are products of team co-operation; reflecting listening skills, creativity, talent, humour respect and leadership.

The day does go beyond mere "fun", as themes and messages that are relevant to team circumstances can easily be incorporated into the films. Imagine how rewarding your team will find winding up an active day with dinner, a premiere screening and an awards ceremony!

How will it Work?

We will customise content to the needs of the group, however the basic structure of the day is:

>> Team warm up exercise
>> Discussion of story development, character and cast
>> Idea generation session
>> Script development
>> Allocation of roles and responsibilities
>> Camera training (1 person) and location scouting, casting, costuming, props
>> Shot by shot storyboarding
>> Rehearsal and final script
>> Shoot and edit film
>> Choose music, final touches
>> Dinner and award show

Who Runs This Event?

Luc Anthony is an actor, writer, director and short film maker. Luc's short film "Composure" was recently included in the Sao Paulo film festival. Luc will lead the session teaching the key technical elements and basics of direction, storyboards, sound, lighting and camera.

Charlotte Jones is an accomplished writer for stage and screen, who will lead the sessions on genre, tone, story structure and character development, planning of scenes, scripts, humour and casting.

Cate Richards of Creative Mind will also lead a brief session on creative idea generation to ensure teams firstly develop a range of ideas for their film and then choose a favourite.
