Mini Olympics                      Watch Video!

With the Olympics in Beijing such a thrill, Team Bonding was inspired to create a fun "Mini Olympics" where the events are a bit twisted! Join us for this fun and active event where your team can enjoy a little friendly competition in the great outdoors.

Your group will be divided into smaller teams of 6 - 12 people. Each are allocated a country, they will prepare a national "cheer" and are encouraged to support each other throughout the event.

Countries compete for gold medals at 3 main three "stadiums", with familiar events re-engineered with a Team Bonding twist to be light and fun (see below).

The Team Bonding philosophy ensures our games are inclusive and physical challenges are safe. No team member is forced to participate in any activities and people volunteer themselves for the events.

Examples of our medal events are:

Race Meet
- 3 person sack race
- flipper feet obstacle course
- buddy walker race
- leap frog
- run mat
- multi leg relay

Ball Sports
- soccer with giant balls
- tunnel ball
- amoeba race
- speed croquet
- ball transfer game
- hoppers race
- beach ball volleyball

Field Meet
- rhythmic gymnastics routine

- tinny shoot

- gumboot throw

- tug of war

- ground archery

- giant "grundy" sword catch


Upon arrival at the "stadium" teams will be briefed on all the medal events and team members will be asked to volunteer to compete in 2 - 4 events. When not competing, team members will be asked to cheer vigorously for their team members and will be given a team work score by facilitators. Teams will then rotate to the other stadiums and an overall medal tally will be kept.

Details:

Duration: 2 hours if team nomination is done beforehand and the "opening ceremony" is kept short, otherwise 2.5 hours.

Location: This can be held at a location of your choice but must be a large, grassy area with shade. (see suggestions below)

Price Includes: Equipment and facilitation of games, plus one bottle of water for each participant. Excludes team prizes and any team "uniforms". (Can be purchased if required).

Group size: Not suitable for groups under 14 pax.

Cost:

20 - 35 pax $1,800 + GST

36 - 50 pax $2,000 + GST   

51 - 75 pax $2,200 + GST

76 - 90 pax $2,400 + GST

Locations: Our preference is St Leonards Park, North Sydney. We have also used Centennial Park (charges apply), Nielson Park, Vaucluse (quite expensive) Lane Cove River Park (charges apply), Sydney Park Alexandria (a little exposed but very spacious) West Spit Bridge and West Pennant Hills Community and Sporting Centre. A reconnaissance visit charge ($100) applies for parks that we have not previously used, and we reserve the right to suggest an alternative if, upon viewing, the park is not suitable.  

Additions: Reconnaissance and planning visit to a location of your choice is $100 + GST. Council fees apply for many parks, though these are generally quite reasonable and do not exceed $300. Also excludes team prizes.

Team "Uniforms" - We recommend that your team have something to wear or have as a keepsake. There are a number of choices, you can purchase bandannas from the charity Canteen ($3), create some fabric headbands ($2 each) or coloured T-shirts for each team "country" at an additional cost of $20. We can also arrange singlets, T shirts or hats printed with your logo for the event.
